HOUSTON, TX (JULY 2006) The annual in-town mixer & official kick-off party to the Leukemia Cup Regatta hosted by Energy2Cure raised records dollars this year. This popular annual event is the precursor to the regatta held each year at the Houston Yacht Club. On June 15th, Energy2Cure hosted the kick off party at The Red Door located at 2416 Brazos in Midtown, Houston from 5:30pm to 10ppm. Over 375 professionals from the Energy, Yachting and professional community attended this worthwhile event. Over $50,000 was raised during the evening making 2006 a banner year for the Energy2Cure Kick Off party, more money raised than any previous year. This money went towards the $73,000 that Energy2Cure raised in total for 2006. Monies were raised through the World-Class Raffle which included a trip to Italy and an extraordinary Silent Auction. Some of the popular items on the silent auction included a week-long stay at a private estate in Acapulco, Mexico with personal maid and chauffer, private yachting excursions, exquisite jewelry and fine art. Patrons were able to mix and mingle with other professionals over hors d oeuvres from Rickshaw Far East Bistro, Droubi Brothers Mediterranean Grill and El Patio Restaurant while sipping cocktails and overlooking a beautiful skyline view from the roof deck.
